I’m always plotting to find ways to explore new places, experience different cultures and to find my way home after all the mishaps along the way. Before I was 8 years old I had lived in England and the Philippines and traveled to Hong Kong, Wales, Spain, Scotland, and Morocco. In recent years I’ve dog sledded on a glacier in Alaska, encountered a dead monkey in west Texas, had the misfortune of having all my stuff stolen in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, evaded a cougar outside the Smokey Mountains, was nursed back to health by a cold tile floor in Argentina, and survived a futile confrontation between my car and a tree.

Here’s a photo I took a few weeks ago while I was hiking in the Lake Tahoe area. I took this somewhere off the trail to Desolation Wilderness. It had just rained and snowed a bit and you can see the resulting rainbow that appeared. Lake Tahoe is the larger lake in the background and Cascade Lake is the closer one. I took this using a Nikon D5000 with a Nikkor 18-55 lens that had a circular polarizer attached.
