I took a few shots at this location. It was difficult getting the right settings because it was actually quite dark, the only source of light was the moon. I took this shot around 2AM-3AM. There is something above the mountain that looks like a UFO. It was a freezing night in January of 2010 and the temperature was a few degree below freezing.

This was taken at the Rosecrans National Cemetery located in Point Loma which is a Peninsula that stretches out from San Diego into the Pacific. I was wondering around near the lighthouse and tide pools located at the end of the point and stopped by the cemetery before going home. I was just about to leave when I saw this couple framed in my passenger side mirror. I thought the composition was really cool and somewhat erie at the same time so I pulled out my camera and snapped a few shots.

Some dense forest area I was hiking through, it was a bit disorienting.
I got rid of the website I was hosting on Square Space and now I’m going to starting using this Tumblr page in its place. I’ve been meaning to keep everyone up to date with all the random stuff I find myself getting into so hopefully I’ll do a better job from here on out. In the meantime, here’s a brief update on some of my new projects:
Festival Footage
Film / Photography / Audio
www.festivalfootage.com
This is something I just started with my buddies Jimmy Collins, Mike Schuppan, and Brian Lima. Brian is an amazing photographer that I’ve known for about 10 years and he’s one of the people that really inspired me to at least make an attempt at being a photographer. I met Jimmy and Mike while I was living and working in LA last year. They’re both extremely cool guys that are really good at what they do and a lot of fun to work with. We first had an opportunity to work together at Lollapalooza in Chicago last year, we were there doing some impromptu band interviews and filming some unplugged performances. After Lollapalooza we returned to LA and then shortly after that Mike and I worked together again in Austin for a project we were doing at Austin City Limits for MySpace Music (yes, MySpace is still around). Anyway, what we’re trying to do now is offer our collective services (filming, sound, and photography) to festival organizers as well as sponsors looking to create some branded content. We almost got booked to work at Lollapalooza in Santiago, Chile last month, but it was too late for the sponsors to put some of their budget toward our services, but it still got us organized and ready to hit the festival circuit.
3Dar
3D Renderings / Animation/ Video / Post-Production
www.3dar.com / www.facebook.com/3DarVFX
Now some of you know that I go to Argentina from time to time and the main reason I go is because I’ve been doing business development work with an awesome animation studio called 3Dar based in Buenos Aires. I’ve been working with these guys since late 2007 and have forged a great relationship with everyone in the company, they’re basically my South American family and truly are some of the most talented and genuine people I’ve ever met. I feel extremely fortunate to be part of this company and I miss being at the office with them when I’m back here in San Diego.
2012 is going to be a big year for us because we’re redesigning our website and we’re about to wrap up an original short animation that was completely done in house. I should be able to share that with you within the next few weeks, sometime around May 5. Over the last few years we’ve had the opportunity to work on some amazing projects for DELL, Dos Equis, Hornitos Tequila, SONY, Whirlpool, Windows, Cartoon Network, and many more and we’re definitely excited to be able to add a passion project into our accomplishments. I’ll be posting the completed video and link for the new website upon completion.
Davis Ink
Interior Design
www.davisinkltd.com / www.facebook.com/davisinkltd
What can I say about Davis Ink? I’m really honored to be part of their team. Like 3Dar, I’ve known and have worked with Davis Ink for a few years and have been helping them with business development and know I’m also getting into doing some social networking. If you live in or have visited southern California, chances are you’re familiar with some of the work the company does because you’ve probably frequented one of the many awesome hotspots that they’ve designed in San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles. Some of the venues include FLUXX, Stingaree, Side Bar, Boudoir, The Kress, and countless other spots. One of the things I was able to contribute last year was taking us into an international market with a new project we’re about to wrap up in Moscow, Russia. We’re extremely excited about this because not only does it launch us into the international market, but the client we’re working with is awesome and one of the nicest people you could ever work with. Once this venue is completed I’ll post the details on here and Facebook so if any of you find yourself in Moscow you can stop by and check it out. Aside from that, we have a lot of projects in the works throughout southern California and elsewhere.
Steve’s Left Eye Photography

By this point, many of you have seen me shamelessly trying to promote my feeble attempts at photography. By no means do I consider myself to have any real skill, but I do like to post what I’ve done in order to get some genuine feedback so I can take those critiques and try to make adjustments to my approach in hopes of developing some skills as I further my pursuit. Up until 2010 most of my photographic attempts had been of landscape and travel photos. Last year I decided to step into another realm by shooting models, I took that one step further and started shooting nudes beginning with my first ever shoot with a model. I’ve been fortunate enough to work some great models that have really given me useful feedback on how to work in this particular genre. Most people ask me if it’s difficult to shoot with nude models, but I actually find it to be much easier, especially if the model is a professional and is comfortable in these types of scenarios. It’s been about 6 months since I’ve done a nude shoot and about 3 months since I did a “normal” shoot so I’m hoping to get a few things lined up in the next month or so. As with everything else, I will be keeping everyone updated on this blog and Facebook.
So that about sums up what I’ve been doing lately, I’ll start posting more details accounts of specific events and travels soon.
